Perhaps not everybody's cup of tea, but it amuses me to no end. Also, language may be NSFW. Jonny McGovern's Bossy Bottom:
I listen to their podcast every week, and it's almost like friends who've put together a video, I feel I know then so well. At any rate, Adam Joseph, the tiny blond boy, looks exACTLY like a girl I used to date in high school.
Like, EXACTLY. Linda James slays me, and I wish I had Ericka Toure's face structure. The whole thing just makes me laugh.

I got to leave work early, which was good because it was horribly slow, and I jetted back over to my folks since most of my sibs were still going to be there at about 10. We played some game or other and then goofed around and made each other laugh, and my 14 year old brother took an empty wrapping paper tube and blew into it, pretending it was a didgeridoo. We laughed and then tried to give him pointers to make it sound more realistic, which in turn made him laugh, making it more impossible to do right. And then I suddenly remembered the One And Only example of a didgeridoo I knew of in films which I could find on Youtube. Oh yes, Priscilla.
So I called it up on the living room computer and my brother and my dad both watched the entire clip, listening for the didgeridoo. And that they watched it all the way through without looking at me like I was a lunatic for allowing such a thing into the house was all that I could have asked for. I couldn't think of a better thing to get from them.

Phooey. I finally realized how Christmas is supposed to be, and why other people have good holidays and I have mediocre ones. Christmas is ostensibly about being with family, and so I do what I always HAVE done each year. However, while my family has remained the one I was raised with, the rest of them have all developed their own, independent of moi. And so, the way it worked out this year, everyone else had the free day to get together and do presents TODAY, the day I have to still work. Tomorrow, the proper holiday, Abby is with her husband's family waiting for an over-seas call from her missionary brother-in-law, Hannah has a mother-in-law who thinks that SHE should get all the holidays and that Hannah joined HER family, not realizing that it's the other way 'round and Cameron, instead, joined ours. Peter is going to a morning party with his wife's family along with his kiddles, and so they're all doing something separate from me, splintering my holiday.
I know this is how it goes, and how it generally SHOULD go, but again, I'm left in the dust while they go a-holidaying with their "new" families, rendering Christmas down to just an extra day off work. I don't have my "own" family to do things with, to visit in-laws with, to go on vacation with, to make our own traditions with. I am... I am alone in this. I don't feel overwhelmingly sad, but it does underline the differentness I experience as opposed to my siblings, and at the end of the day I don't care for it and wish I had something else, maybe even something more "traditional" (just with twice as many penises as a het couple). It's not a sudden thing, they've all been having their own Christmases for nigh on 5-7 years or so, but I finally just realized how this story is going to end if I don't change something.
And I guess it really does have to be me, because no one else will. Damn. Why was building a second family so easy for my sibs, and so difficult for me? Don't answer that, I know.

WHA-HA-HA-HA! I have a friend whose been in El Salvadore for the last semester, studying abroad, and she's on her way home tonight. She mentioned that on Facebook, and all her peeps at home in DC and that area are all "Talk about climate change - you may feel you've landed in Alaska!" and "If you're flying into Dulles, you may have to spend the night!" and I know that lots of snow is unusual over there on that side. So I was amazed and curious about what was going on, so I looked up the weather for that area currently and for the last while.
And evidently yesterday there was 0.15 of an inch of snow, and another site is telling me that in the last 4 hours there's been an addition 0.04 inches of snowfall.
And I say WUSSES! I cannot emphasize this enough - WUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
I still have drifts in my parking lot that come up to my car doors. There's ice all over everything, and all around the edges of the places everyone drives on, the snow is still piled high. What I wouldn't give to live in a place where we got a 19th of an inch of snow in two days. WUSSES!
